Explain the sizes of the hoops, the simulation of population and food.
More than any other part of the assembly, the students will remember this simulation of population density and food distribution. Often cross border migrations will happen spontaneously AND the game is inherently unfair. There is a balancing act each time for each audience, how to state the “rules” without inciting chaos. A little is very memorable. Too much needs to be halted immediately. The audience NEEDS to be focused upon behavior and displays of emotion so as to best link the simulation to real world events.
Finish filling in the simulation and see the way people behave when things are not fair.
